Biography

Clémence Demesme est née en 1988 à Avignon.
Très tôt repérée lors du festival VIDEOFORMES de Clermont-Ferrand, l’artiste Clémence Demesme questionne à travers ses différentes productions d’art vidéo, notamment Orgie Républicaine, sur les différentes formes d’expression du désir.
Invitée en 2014 par la DRAC Auvergne, elle réalise son premier court métrage de fiction La chair et les volcans où émergent les thèmes de l’adolescence, du rapport au territoire et de la filiation.
Réalisatrice de clips musicaux, elle réalise également des portraits photographiques d’autres artistes.
Elle vit et travaille aujourd'hui à Paris.

Clémence Demesme, is a filmmaker, video artist and photographer based in Paris.

At 19, her video “Le cauchemar du poison rouge” was selected for VIDEOFORMES in Clermont-Ferrand. She has also presented video installation work at VIDEOFORMES, as well as premiering her videos “Crak” (in 2009), “Rose & Manu” (in 2013) and “Orgie Republicaine” (in 2015).

As a photographer, her main interest is portraiture. In addition, she While developing her first feature project.

In 2015, Clémence served art director on the immersive theatre piece, "Tout Contre”, with performances in Paris and Avignon. She has directed music videos, including for the Hoosky (signed to Nowadays Records).

In 2014, she completed an artistic residency in Brioude, through DRAC Auvergne. During the residency, Clem wrote and directed her short film, “La chair et les volcans”, which is a finalist for Unifrance’s My French Film Festival 2017.
